WALTHAM, MA -- According to a recent report in The Journal of New England Technology, venture capital firms are relying on advisory boards to assist in evaluating the ever-increasing complexity of potential venture-backed companies.
Veteran VCs Kodiak Venture Partners and 3i Corp have recently announced the formation of advisory boards. Numerous other venture firms already have them, especially in the life science and medical technologies fields.
The firms state that having an advisory board not only helps them in getting other views on potential investments but also gives them added credibility during the fund-raising process.
